Work on the bathroom has begun! I don't have any 'before' pictures because I didn't know they'd start tearing it apart today. But sure enough all the walls, ceiling and floor are gone, in addition to the sink, mirror, etc .. they even built a wooden casket around the tub. To use as a table for tools, I guess.
Those of you who have seen this room anytime in the past 6 years will notice that the previous tenants were slackers - installing floortiles on top of the old ones and hanging the medicine cabinet over a big hole in the wall.
I asked the contractors to see if they could raise the ceiling like they did in the kitchen - it had been dropped to 7 ft like in the kitchen for some reason. Raising it should make the room seem bigger, at least a little.
Lest we forget why all this destruction is happening, here's a current look at the kitchen. It's pretty much all done, just waiting for the sink/appliances to get there and then lights and finally the countertop.
